DAIWA ELECTRIC TROLLING MOTOR
These days on many waters petrol motors are banned. This means an awful amount of rowing in some situations. Though rowing is good for you there is a limit to the amount of healthy exercise you can take. Daiwa now sells electric motors along with the usual rods and reels. I have the 54lb thrust model which is the most powerful in the range. It will push a 17 foot boat along in moderate winds and the range you have with it of course depends on the size of the battery you have.
I’ve used mine for a year and it is great for A to B trips though the absence of stepless control makes it less suitable for trolling work. Motors of a similar thrust with stepless control are retailing at £549 at present so if trolling is only an occasional need the Daiwa model wins hands down at £200.
