DAIWA MANTON FISHERY
 The Daiwa Manton Carp fishery comprises two lakes situated near to Manton, Kirton in Lindsey. The Old Lake is a well established 10 acre lake dug out primarily to store irrigation water. It has a stock of around 60 carp most of which are twenties up to 39lb. Depending on the time of year there are 5 or 6 thirty pound plus carp. There are also catfish to 50lb.. All the fish have grown on from much smaller fish. Membership of the Old Lake is via a waiting list. This waiting list can only be joined if you are a member of the New Lake. |
 It is possible to drive all the way around the lake and there are a number of wooded areas where you can get nicely tucked into. We have a limited number of rules all of which are designed to help members enjoy their fishing in peace and quiet. Fishing is for members only though your wife , girlfriend or children may accompany you. They can even fish provided it is with one of your rods. Dogs are allowed, but must be kept under control at all times. We allow baitboats but operate a 140 yard limit in order to avoid conflict! We have no bait restrictions and the only rigs I object to are ones that do not discharge the lead. |
 The New Lake is 34 acres and is entering its 10th year. The total stock is around 400 carp with the biggest in 2008 just over 30lb. We do not know how many twenties there are, but there are probably 50 or 60. There are a few grass carp over 30lb. The New Lake is not easy, but when you get it right you can have multiple catches. |
 Membership of the New Lake costs £195 for 2008/9 and the season runs from April 1st until the end of March. Membership is for carp fishing only though I have no objection to anyone fishing for the large rudd which also live in the lake. |
